Enjoy delicate, translucent dumplings filled with succulent prawns, tender fish and bamboo shoots. These gluten-free Prawn Har Gow dumplings are a delicious choice for a light meal, snack or shared appetiser—and you can see the generous prawn filling through the wrapper.
Serve them steamed for a traditional finish, boiled for convenience, or pan-fried for a crisp golden base. Cook directly from frozen for an easy and satisfying meal at home.
Ingredients
Filling (65%): Prawn (crustacean) (54.6%), fish (pangasius), soybean oil, tapioca starch, bamboo shoot, sugar, sesame oil, salt, yeast extract and white pepper.
Dumpling Skin (35%): Water, rice flour, tapioca starch, potato starch, soybean oil, sugar and salt.
Contains: Crustaceans (prawn), fish, soy and sesame.
May contain: Milk, eggs and molluscs.
Cooking Instructions
Steam: Do not defrost. Place the frozen dumplings on a steaming tray, leaving enough space between each dumpling to prevent sticking. Steam for 10–15 minutes.
Boil: Do not defrost. Bring water to the boil and carefully add the dumplings one at a time. Stir gently to prevent sticking and cook for 9–12 minutes.
Deep Fry: Do not defrost. Deep-fry in oil heated to 165–170°C for 5–6 minutes. Drain excess oil using a basket or paper towel before serving.
Pan Fry: Heat a pan over medium-high heat with a few teaspoons of oil. Add the frozen dumplings and cook for 4–5 minutes, or until the bases are golden brown. Add 50 mL of water per 10 dumplings, reduce the heat to medium-low and cover with a tightly fitting lid. Cook until the water has evaporated. Remove the lid and continue frying until the dumplings reach your preferred crispness.
